This projects explores the interface between music, visuals, but also two and three-dimentional space. The aim was to create a visualisation for each track of the binaural album „Seven Spaces“ from Sounddesigner Patrick Leuchter, as part of a cooperation project at KISD.

The result was an audio-visual installation with mapped ropes for the song "Done and Gone".

Concept, animation & installation done by Leonie Spachtholz & Sebastian Miller together.

The album "Seven Spaces" is available at Acoustic Motion Concepts.

Video documentation music by Roman Kaschuba.

Binaural music uses a special kind of recording to create a three dimensional spatial sound. Together with Sebastian Miller, we created a room installation with mapped, horizontally taut strings for the song "Done and Gone" provided by Patrick Leuchter. We decomposed the musical piece in it‘s sounds and created a synaesthetically perceived visualisation fitting the extracted musical elements. The visual perception intensifies and alters the auditive impressions of the music, as well as the other way around. This interaction creates an emerging experience.
