Glowing Forest
How can a static image be animated with the projection of motion? How is the perception of a photography influenced, when adding an additional medium? How far can we go with the manipulation of the image, and where are the limits?
During this self-initiated project, together with Lisa Peter and Corinna Duschl, we each experimented with the effects of mixing the static image and the dynamic video-projection.
The result was an installation demonstrating the three performances.

For this study, I took an image of an alley and wondered if the impression of depth could be enhanced again with a projection on the still image. To achieve such an impression, many masks and layers had to be created to differentiate the different image depth and play with it. In the first part of the projection, realistic manipulations were attempted to revive the still image. In the later part, more artistic and abstract animations were ventured.
